The growing use of glass in interior design means that
safety
must be taken into account in certain applications. For instance, the use of fire-resistant glazings in public buildings is required by law in most countries (Pyrobel).
Certain applications, balustrades, partitions, banisters, doors, stairs, tables, and so on, demand the use of safety glass (Stratobel, Balustra).
Mirrors and varnished glasses can also be processed for use in certain safety applications (Mirox MNGE and Lacobel with the SAFE coating).
Generally speaking, it is the end use of the product that guides the designer when deciding whether or not to use safety glasses.
