Laminated security glasses can provide several levels of personal protection thanks to the built-in plastic PVB (polyvinylbutyral) film. The film keeps the glass splinters in place and is even able to prevent an individual from falling through the glass:

protection from injury;

protection from accidents;

protection from defenestration: when impacted the PVB film can prevent an individual from falling through the glass, even if the glass is broken.

The level of protection depends on the number and thickness of the PVB interlayers used in the laminated glass.

This function is strongly recommended for glass used in windows, roofing, flooring, balustrades, banisters and so on.
